Ture Larsen – trombone
Poul Carstensen – bass
Peter Reim – drums
Erling Kroner – trombone
Uffe Markussen – bass clarinet

My first recording as a leader. The band was my first as well. The music very much inspired by my influences at the time, Mingus, Monk, Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, and maybe less obvious, Astor Piazzolla. The arrangement of “’Round Midnight” was inspired by an early Dollar Brand (Abdullah Ibrahim) recording of the song (trio live from jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen in the sixties, very recommendable!). The quartet were enlarged with Kroner, in whose band I played at the time, and Uffe, who would be part of my sextet, that were formed right after this recording came out.
